The premiere of Suitcaseboarding has been postponed due to health reasons. As an alternative, the tYhle ensemble has prepared a sampling of its upcoming production for you:

"Dear colleagues, supporters, partners and friends of tYhle,

We were preparing to present the indoor premiere of Suitcaseboarding next Saturday at the PONEC Theatre. Unfortunately, one of the performers was injured in such a way that it is not possible to hold this premiere on the originally planned date of October 22. We believe that you were looking forward to it, which is why we would like to offer you an alternative in the form of a small sampling from the upcoming production. At the same time and place – 22 October 2022 at 20:00, PONEC – the dance venue – we are preparing for you a series of scenes from the performance, from which you can choose to sample short passages with live musical accompaniment by Lukáš Palán, spiced up by the lighting design of Zuzana Režná. We will serve a hot drink to warm you up in the autumn evening with all the bites from the show. We'd love for you to come and share a quiet evening with us and these tasty little delights. You can support both the theatre and the ensemble with a voluntary contribution.

PS: We are intensively looking for a new date for the premiere and believe we will be ready to announce it during this sampling. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you!

Suitcaseboarding are pictures from travels. Situations that we all experience in different ways on our travels, each one a little differently. The environment and people around us change, but we have something in common, we usually share the same goal when traveling – we want to get somewhere. For us, the journey is not just about moving from one place to another, it is mainly about what happens during it.

You know the cliched phrase “even the journey can be the destination”? There are many stops on the way that we must go through and at which we must usually wait before we can go further. We must wait, in a strange place, with strangers, with only our baggage, until circumstances let us go on. And when that happens, we rush to the next point. We stop at it and wait obediently again before we can continue further. We hurry so we can wait. We wait so we can hurry.

What happens while you wait? What do you do? Do you listen to music? Do you dance? Do you look around? Do you feel the need to make contact with other passengers? Or are you trying to hide and impatiently waiting for the connection? Are you leaning on your suitcase? Will you ride it past a stop, a bench, a departure board or other passengers? Or are you just trying to deal with an excess amount of unwieldy luggage?

The desire to share these moments unites the members of our “suitcase troupe” who are now on their way to you.
