Come celebrate International Dance Day and get Krenovka dancing on April 29!
International Dance Day is a celebration of movement and creativity. This year's program, titled Let's Get Krenovka Dancing?!, taking place on April 29, has been prepared so that you can participate in dance as much as possible. Join us in celebrating it at Krenovka, the building next to the PONEC Theatre.
First, we invite everyone between the ages of 12 and 18 to dance at the Krenovka Studio, for an open contemporary dance lesson for teens led by dancer and choreographer Věra Ondrašíková. We will then move one floor down to the Unijazz Reading Room, where from 19:30 to 23:00 everyone can move their bodies as part of the evening program, regardless of age.
At Unijazz, we will welcome you with a performance of Contact Line under the baton of dancer and choreographer Yana Reutova & coll. Later you can look forward to Dance is a Speech..., the second example from this workshop. The musical side of the evening will be provided by DJ Gadjo cz, who for this occasion is preparing a collection of dance world beats known from his broadcast on Radio 1. The DJ set will be enhanced by a live projection crafted by VJ DVDSRK, who employs a hybrid approach intertwining digital space with analogue video signals. The evening will, of course, feature plenty of opportunities for freely inspired entertainment!
Entrance to the event is free of charge.

19:30 | Yana Reutova & coll.: Contact Line | Unijazz Reading Room
Every contact affects our life and development, leaves a permanent mark on us. We don't only remember its location, but also its temperature, intensity, duration or even its smell.
The viewer swiftly enters the interactive realm of the performance and thus becomes an integral part of it. What role will they assume and who chooses it? They may opt to linger as a mere bystander, a disinterested onlooker. Or they might yield to the allure of participation or find themselves bereft of choice. What role will yours be?

Dance is rhythm, breath, pulsation. It is a mirror of our inner world. An interplay of movements flowing through time. It is a manifestation of joy, sadness, happiness and fear. A means of expression. Thanks to dance, even the most closed person becomes an open book, one whose deepest desires and fears can suddenly be revealed. But there is nothing to fear. Dance and enjoy the dance when your soul sings.
Choreography: Yana Reutova
Performers: Olena Korotkova, Anastasiia Pavlovska
The event is organized by Tanec Praha z.ú. and the Krenovka Centre – a memorial full of life.
The project is made possible by the financial support of the City of Prague, the Ministry of Culture and the City of Prague 3. Supported by a grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway within the Krenovka Estate project in Prague's Žižkov – a new centre for contemporary art and community, supported by EEA Funds. The project was implemented with the financial participation of the EU through the National Recovery Plan and the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
As part of Prague's International Dance Day celebrations, we would also like to invite you to other events.
The first one is a short preview of a duet by Ukrainian choreographer and dancer Yana Reutova called Paradoxical Bodies. It will take place on Sunday, 28 April at 8 pm on the New Stage of the National Theatre as part of the Gala of professional performances. The duet of Yana and dancer Nika Horiacha explores two completely different perspectives on life: endorphin and adrenaline.
The second is the performance of The Lion's Den UNLIMITED, a participatory variation of the production by POCKETART - The Lion's Den, which Tanec Praha / PONEC – dance venue co-produced. Dancers and choreographers Johana Pocková and Sabina Bočková invite all participants from previous years to come together on Monday, 28 April at 5 pm on Střelecký Island to create an unforgettable experience.
The events are organized by Art 4 People.
