Salut mon frère which received funds from the Danish Art Council, Kunstfond, and was performed in Roskilde (Denmark), in Cayenne (Guyane Francaise) for the festival Rencontre Danse Metisse and in Ouagadougou at the FIDO (Festival de Danse de Ouagadougou). This piece is about the meeting of 2 black men confronting their experiences with living abroad and questioning the clichés that are very often connected with being black. It was choreographed by Jean-Hugues Miredin and performed by Jean-Hugues Miredin and Laurent Troudart.

Guest of the night: Ghanaia directed by Monika Rebcová.

Ghanaia is one of the most frequent song for marimba. The Ghanaia dance choreography is inspired by the Adowa dance, the so-called antelope dance. This dance imitates the jumping antelope and is danced by both men and women. Adowa dance allows artists to express their emotions and feelings through the movement of their hands and feet. According to a popular legend, the queen mother of the Ashanti tribe in the southern part of Ghana, called Abrewa Tuta, was very sick. To cure her, the magician recommended sacrificing an antelope. But the antelope escaped from fighters easily by using quick feet. Surprised hunters imitated the antelope and helped to create this dance creation.

The performance is followed by a debate with the creators (moderated by Vladimír Hulec, Dance Zone).
