The community arts project Dance of Žižkov! was implemented by Tanec Praha z.ú. at the Cimburkova elementary school in the 2016/2017 school year. The idea for the project and the artistic concept of each event was devised by dance artists Barbora Látalová and Zdenka Brungot Svíteková. Thanks to the project, schools held a Crazy Dance at Recess event once a month, which presented examples of various dance and movement works and workshops for children, their parents and teachers.

Since September 2016, 26 artists, dancers and musicians from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Tibet, Ghana and the Netherlands have been dancing and playing for pupils at school. The project aims to enrich pupils’ cultural opportunities, the community life of the school, and to help bring children from socially disadvantaged groups into society.
The project was supported by grants from T-Mobile Mluvme spolu and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
