Womanhood

Don't take yourself too seriously is what the female protagonists of the show Womanhood want to share with the world. Distance and humor are essential to life. Womanhood encompasses a wide spectrum of identities, expressions, and journeys, all intertwined with notions of power, resilience, and individuality. From the realms of motherhood to sisterhood, from leadership to creativity. Womanhood flourishes in myriad forms, each with its own story and meaning. Yana and Clara celebrate diversity through dance, but also promote a sense of unity and empowerment of women around the world. Together, they delve into the depths of a multifaceted concept by amplifying a diverse array of voices and narratives.Through the fusion of different cultural backgrounds, personal experiences and artistic influences, she strives to create a performance that transcends gender boundaries and resonates across audiences.

Fantasmas

Brazilian choreographer Flávia Tápias is returning to the Tanec Praha Festival after a year. Last year, her site-specific project Rotas Afora, in which both local and Ukrainian dancers participated, was performed in the streets of several Czech cities. At this year's open-air festival, she will present her production of Fantasmas, on which she collaborated with the Czech dancer Jitka Čechová. Both theatre and dance are transient moments that linger only in our memories. Fantasmas doesn't unfold a linear narrative but delves into the absurdity and enchantment of inhabiting the stage, of art, and of life itself. Flávia Tápias drew inspiration from the renowned Brazilian playwright Fernando Caruso's text Os Dojs Fantasmas and created a production for one actor and two dancers.

The performance uses spoken word in Czech and in English.

Yana Reutova worked as a dancer, choreographer and teacher in the Odessa region. In 2014 she founded Dance Theatre Plastilin and created several performances receiving some awards. She organized the Dance Platform Most festival (5 years) and worked a lot with children (Creative Kids project) and her students. After that she started the Speaking with the Body festival, which took place only once. In March 2022, she took her daughter and several students and fled from the war to Prague, where she now works. She is involved in projects by other choreographers and herself leads workshops for children and develops her own work with various artists.

The triptych concept Together Alone succeeded in the European competition within the first EFFEA Open Call and was one of the 40 supported projects.
