PONEC – dance venue is a place for contemporary dance, movement theatre and other inspiring crossovers to other genres. With its dramaturgy, it targets both adult audiences (experienced fans of contemporary dance and the broadest audience) as well as families with children and schools. 

From April 2024, the theatre has a new Artistic Council, which is open to artists of all generations, from beginners to seasoned pros. Are you a contemporary dance and movement theatre professional? We offer:

• 4 weeks of rehearsal at Studio Krenovka (Husitská 22, Prague 3) from summer 2024 and during 2025 
• 1 week of rehearsal in the PONEC Theatre, including technical preparation (technical specifications of the theatre here)
• possibility to list work in progress, feedback session, consultations on the creative process
• premiering in 2025, possibly in the 2025/2026 season
• contribution to the fees for the premiere and subsequent runs of the performance + a share of the entrance fee
• promotion of the premiere within the theatre’s capabilities

Note: Travel, accommodation, rehearsal and performance fees, copyright, music, decorations, costumes, and other expenses related to the premiere and subsequent runs are covered by the artist/ensemble from their own resources.

The opportunity to collaborate is intended for:

• artists working in the contemporary dance and movement art scenes creating for an adult or children's audience
• individuals or ensembles who are planning a project or performance that they will work on from the 2024/2025 season and premiere in 2025 or in the 2025/2026 season
• adult professional creators – emerging, mid-career and matured artists

Dates:

• application deadline: 31 May 2024
• selection of projects by the Artistic Council of the PONEC Theatre by 14 June 2024

Applications must contain:

• project concept, incl. optimal time schedule for preparations and premiere (1-2 pages)
• link to recordings of previous work or examples of work in progress, etc.
• introduction of creative team (CV, portfolio)
• short motivation letter (max. ½ page)
