Marie Gourdain & Felix Baumann

 

Marie Gourdain

Marie Gourdain is a French choreographer, scenographer and visual artist. She develops her artistic activities between Prague and Lyon. Her work merges her formation in the visual arts with contemporary dance drawing on the elements of graphic and sculptural composition and the detailed analysis of movement. She studied animation cinema at ENSAD Paris and the VŠUP in Prague. In 2015 she joined the physical theatre and dance collective tYhle and began her choreographic work. Today Marie has five pieces in the collective’s repertoire: UN (2016), LEGOrytmus (2017), Medúza (2018), Mu—Tation (2021) and Icarus (2021). In 2020, Marie receives the first International Caroline-Neuber-Scholarship of the city of Leipzig for her choreographic work. She has recently created a new company in France called Matière Mobile. 

 

Felix Baumann

Felix Baumann lives in Berlin and works since 2016 as a freelance dance and theater maker in an international context. After graduating in Physical Theatre at the the Accademia Teatro Dimitri he founded the company "Von B bis Z | Baumann&Zöller GbR" and realizes projects at the border of dance, physical theater, circus and visual arts. His research and practice focus on an interdisciplinary approach that uses the tool of the body in action to show the absurdities of human life in a humorous way. His most recent work are particularly dedicated to the relationship between the body and scenographic material.

 

Sean Henderson

Sean Henderson is a current member of Divadlo Continuo as well as a collaborator with the companies Von B bis Z (DE), tYhle (CZ), and Matière Mobile (FR). Sean holds an MFA in physical theatre from the Accademia dell’Arte (IT) where he studied under a variety of artistic companies including FLIC school of circus in Torino (IT), Founding members of Roy Hart Theatre (FR), and Familie Flöz (DE). Through his background in both sports and theatre, he aims to research the intersections of various movement fields as a pathway and entry point to the world of movement based theatre, combining the adaptive and reactive nature of sports with the play and openness of devised theatre.

 

Johana Pocková

Johana Pocková is a choreographer and dancer in the field of contemporary dance, physical theatre and performing arts based in Prague. In 2019 she founded the company POCKETART as a platform for authorial performances. She created 5 feature performances and other participatory projects (for seniors, children, outdoor concepts etc.) in collaboration with other artists. Some of the projects were part of Aerowaves, Czech Dance Platform and other festivals in the Czech Republic and abroad alike. As a performer, she collaborates with the Tantehorse company and tYhle. She studied at the Duncan Centre Conservatory in Prague and at SEAD (Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance), and was awarded a scholarship at the Peridance Capezio Centre and Limon Institut in New York. Her work is characterized by tackling topics that go beyond the personal experience of an individual and touch upon societal issues such as manipulation through media, global environmental threats, etc. She tries to approach these topics comprehensively through detailed work with all theatrical components. 

 

Halka Třešňáková

Halka J. Třešňáková is an actress and physical theatre performer. Movement often plays a significant part in the roles she performs at Meetfactory, Studio Hrdinu, the Komedie and Vosto5 theatres. She founded the Secondhand Women theatre collective, she is a member of the Mothers Artlovers company. In the last decade, she has been active in the film industry, working repeatedly with directors such as Marek Najbrt, David Ondříček, Jiří Havelka, Bohdan Sláma and Dan Wlodarczyk. As her focus primarily lies in movement, she helps create choreography at theatres and films, such as the critically acclaimed Czech film Occupation. She teaches at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. Being raised abroad in an emigrant family, she often works abroad, too. With her husband and two sons, she lives at the boundary between Prague-Vinohrady and her beloved Prague-Žižkov districts.

 

Till Jenewein

Till Jenewein is a German dancer based in Budapest. The loss of his eye led him to a path of pursuing dance and movement in Hangar Adama in Israel. Before that, he was just enjoying dance in parties, which lead to people asking him about having ecstasy. But he was sober. After finishing his studies at Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy 2019, through the work with Tijen Lawton (TR)  and his own creation of the Dance-Film “RAFT”, he manifested his physical research of somatics and improvisational states and characters. His recent works were with Anton Lachky (SK/BE)  on the dance-Film BUNKER and as a dancer in the “Flying Bodies” (HU). Currently, he is part of the new Creation SEISMIC of Marie Gourdain(FR) & Felix Baumann (DE).

 

Zuzana Režná

Zuzana Režná is a light designer for physical theatre and dance productions. She graduated from the Theatre Faculty of Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno in Lighting Design. During her studies she collaborated on Belgian choreographer Karine Ponties’ production of Pisum Sativum and took part in workshops by the Institute of Lighting Design in Prague. She also underwent an internship with Sasha Waltz & Guests in Berlin. She is currently collaborating with the physical-theatre company tYhle, providing it with lighting designs for Umbilicus, UN, Higher, Medúza, Wrestling with language, Mu---Tation and Living Room. She also collaborates with Marta Kuczyńska and company Kejos The-At-Er, Marek Menšík and Sláva Zubkov, Matthew Rogers and Chris Leuenberger, Markéta Stránská and Jean Gaudin, Viktor Černický, Tereza Lenerová, Peter Šavel, Svalbard Company and Katharina Schmitt.

 

Honza Tomšů

Honza Tomšů is a scenographer, musician and DIYer deeply convinced that one has a personal responsibility for the world around them. He graduated in media and cultural studies from Palacky University in Olomouc and in scenography from the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. In his practice, he promotes the method of experiment, using also flexibility and activation of the recipient of the artwork in the process and sustainability phase of art. Among others, he cooperated with the following theatres: the National Theatre, the Na Zábradlí and Husa na Provazku theatres, the NOD Experimental Centre and the Zlin Municipal Theatre. He organises the PAF Contemporary Art and Film Animation Festival and the LITR Olomouc Literary Festival. He founded the Zverinec Zlin Cultural Platform.

 

Thibault Cohade

Thibault Cohade is particularly interested in instrumental and electronic music. Open to different art forms and aesthetics, he studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse de Lyon (France) and graduated with a Master’s degree in film and stage composition in 2019. For 10 years, he has collaborated not only in cinema (series, short films, advertisement) but also in live performances (theatre, dance, cine-concert). Thibault dedicates part of his activity to teaching and sharing his experience with diverse audiences. He started teaching computer-assisted music at the CNSMD de Lyon in 2019 and he often holds participatory conferences and workshops about the relationship between music and image or music and dance.
