Jana Drdácká

 

Jana Drdácká, a Flamenco dancer, choreographer and teacher, is a Flamenco pioneer in the Czech Republic. She acquired her expertise and experience during numerous study visits to Spain and the United States. Since 2001, she has been running her own dance school in Prague. She has co-founded two musical dance ensembles, Arsa y Toma in 200 and Flamenco Element in 2010. At the same time, she produces her own projects and performs with prominent Spanish artists.

Since 2002, the creator of the performance, Jana Drdácká, has presented a number of her own projects: Color Flamenco, Tierra Flamenca, 3 mil kilómetros, Now, Flamenco Element and Guests, Alma Flamenca. In 2010, she created the dance poem Flamenco Element for ND Brno as a prologue to the ballet Carmen. Besides purely dance projects, she has also collaborated with traditional dramatic theatre: choreography for the play Pláňka, Na Prádle Theatre 2002, choreography and solo performance in the theatre-dance project Bloody Wedding, PONEC - dance venue 2019. The dance-opera project Carmen and Flamenco with singer Edita Adlerová was created in 2005 – 2007. The artist tested the combination of flamenco with kathak, which has common roots with flamenco, in the project Ana&Sara/Storyteller, PONEC - dance venue 2014 – 2019. Jana is a flamenco pioneer and the most prominent interpreter of this genre in the Czech Republic.
