LUKÁŠ HOMOLA: BIOrytmus

The dance performance BIOrythm is inspired by everyday life. The year has its months, which in turn have their weeks, the weeks their days and the days their hours in which we shape our lives. All of us sometimes do the same things, at the same time, but in a different place. How many such connections will occur in one day in a group of five people? Are we able to perceive our day consciously and be present? What part of the day brings us joy and when are we completely devoid of energy? Do we all experience such a day in the same way?

The creator's goal is to capture specific and special moments of each performer's day and connect them to each other.

GABRIELA GALIOVÁ: Comfort Women

In 1991, the first victim recorded as "comfort women", one of the women who were forcibly abducted by the Japanese army during World War II to serve as sex slaves for the soldiers, made her first public testimony. To this day, Japan denies any guilt, arguing that the women themselves chose to make a living through prostitution. But army records describe "comfort women" as imported goods, not human beings. Several commemorative statues have been erected in honour of these women around the world, but Japan has taken legal action to have them removed.

The term 'comfort women' is hardly to be found in any school textbooks in Japan today, which is why young people have no idea about this part of their history.

The show aims to convey to the public the true picture of this dark part of history that has been wiped from the consciousness of younger generations by showing stories from the accounts of a few Asian women. How did this experience affect them for the rest of their lives, if there was any left afterwards?
