From Classical to Contemporary... - a performance by the graduating students of the 75-year-old Hungarian Dance University
In 2025, the Hungarian Dance University celebrates its 75th anniversary. The institution’s predecessor, the State Ballet Institute, was founded in 1950. Over the past seven and a half decades, nearly 1,400 students have graduated with a degree in dance. Many of these highly trained artists began their careers during their time at the university, later achieving remarkable success both nationally and internationally. Numerous alumni have returned to their alma mater as teachers or choreographers, while others have taken their expertise across the globe, educating future talents and cultivating new audiences for dance.
To mark this milestone, the university is organizing a series of celebratory events, including exhibitions, conferences, book launches, and, of course, numerous dance performances — not only in Hungary, but on international stages as well.
Our institution places great emphasis on international collaborations and actively seeks opportunities to promote the art of dance while offering students valuable experiences on global stages.
We are especially pleased to present our performance From Classical to Contemporary... to the Prague audience — a joint production showcasing the talents of students from both the classical ballet and the modern–contemporary dance programs.
