In response to the ongoing challenges facing independent dance in Slovakia, Tanec Praha / Ponec – dance venue is offering its residency programme for the second year running, providing practical support and expressing solidarity with Slovak dance artists.

The programme offers professional facilities and dedicated space for artists to develop their work and potentially bring new projects to life. We believe that culture and the arts are a shared heritage that transcends borders, and that support between artistic communities across the region is particularly important today.

The residency is open to individual artists and companies working in Slovakia.

What we offer

• a one-week residency at Ponec
• technical facilities and support from a technician
• dates: January / February 2027 (specific dates will be agreed between the theatre and the selected artist/company)
• space for 1–3 projects, depending on availability
• all other costs (travel, accommodation, etc.) are to be covered by the artist/company

• call opens: 20 July 2026
• application deadline: 21 September 2026
• results announced: 16 October 2026

Selection of projects

Projects will be selected by the Ponec Artistic Board, with the aim of supporting as many applicants as possible.
