Mili Janatková

Milli Janatková is an authentic performer, musician, and visual artist who combines genres and artistic disciplines. She is involved in improvisation, composition, singing, playing the guitar and drums, painting, and graphic design. Between 2010 and 2021, she worked at the Duncan Centre Conservatory. She is also a special educator focusing on supporting people with emotional and behavioral disorders.

In addition to the club scene in the Czech Republic, she has performed at festivals such as Jazz Goes to Town, Mandau Jazz, Colour Meeting, Theatrum Kuks, Dobršská brána, Space X, Folková Lipnice, and others. Abroad, she has performed in India (Mumbai and Madras Jazz Festival and festivals in West Bengal), Nepal (Nepal Academy of Fine Arts in Kathmandu), Denmark (Jødisk Kulturfestival in Copenhagen), France (Prague-Paris Jazz Club), Greece (Blackbox Jazz Festival Athens, etc.) and Germany (Kosmos Chemnitz). She has collaborated with the Canadian project Thieves of Dreams, which won the prestigious Juno Award in Toronto.

In 2010, she performed with Brazilian guitarist Nelson Faria and collaborated with jazz musicians on an ongoing basis. To date, she has released four albums (Proměna, Mým kořenům, Hluboko, Klid, prosím!), for which she has received The Independent Music Awards, LIT Talent Awards, and a nomination for the Classic Prague Awards (Crossover). Milli Janatková's work expresses respect for mental and physical health. It opens up the topic of responsibility and self-knowledge through an understanding of stories from personal, family, and cultural history. Since 2024, she has been working on the musical-visual project V RYTMU.
