"We're all mad here..."​

Where are you going? And where are you coming from? The premiere performance ALENKA is a contemporary ballet inspired by the famous work of Lewis Carroll. It is a musical and dance performance that combines contemporary classical music with modern ballet. It draws upon eight key chapters from the first volume of Alice in Wonderland.​

The entire musical experience is created by members of Michal Macourek's orchestra in collaboration with a string quartet led by Anička Romanovská-Fliegerová. The ballet choreography was crafted by the talented dancer and choreographer Aneta Pašková. The musical suite itself was composed by young composer Matyáš Vonz, who symbolically concludes his studies at the Jan Deyl Conservatory with this project.​

About the Creators

Matyáš Vonz (Music)

Matyáš is a recent graduate of the Jan Deyl Conservatory in Prague.​

He has been involved in music since the age of seven, when he began attending the Elementary Art School in Radotín. Later, during his studies at the Waldorf Lyceum in Prague, he won the Czech Television Award for young emerging composers at the Soundtrack Poděbrady festival. In 2019, he began studying composition at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory, where he also started learning conducting. He leads an interdisciplinary choir at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, called Spjeff, and works as a music producer in Radim Linhart's studio in Kosoř. In 2025, he won second place in the composition competition at the Eternal Hope festival.​

Aneta Pašková (Choreography)

Aneta has been dancing since the age of four. At seven, she joined the Ballet Preparatory School of the National Theatre and later continued at the Dance Conservatory of the Capital City of Prague. She remained at this school for another three years and became a member of the youth dance ensemble Bohemia Ballet, where she had the opportunity to develop significantly. In 2022, she joined the ballet ensemble of the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň, where she continues to perform.​
